Sarah Manwaring-Jones and Lydia Zamorano studied and practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for many years and are curious students of Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor. Their paths criss-crossed and brought them to another mentor, Gioia Irwin. With Gioia they have been exploring the Vijnana yoga lineage, and priniciples of Tensegrity (tensional integrity). They now fuse a soft inner practice of tensegrity with the energetic forms of hatha yoga to find a meditative awareness.

LYDIA ZAMORANO
Lydia Zamorano has been sharing Yoga for nearly 10 years. She started developing a formal practice of awareness in body and mind at 19 years old.
Lydia likes to practice and teach the Taoist “70% effort” suggestion, rounded movements, and incorporate playful images of creatures and plants into her practices and classes, (bringing her love for the outdoors into the exploration of the body).
When practicing with a sense of the subtle body, and with respect to the ongoing changes in each day, she believes Yoga to be a way to remember the ease that is in each of us, and an extraordinary way to feel good.
Lydia has studied asana, pranayama, meditation, Sanskrit and philosophy during two trips to South India where she began to explore the origins of Yoga. This brought her to become a curious student of Richard and Mary Freeman, whom she completed her second teacher training with, in Boulder, Colorado in 2008. She is currently finishing the first year of a three year teacher training program with her teacher Gioia Irwin.
Lydia landed in Squamish with her husband Sonnie Trotter in 2008. She deeply loves the Squamish community and feels blessed to share precious silence with the local people and the trees. She is grateful to co-own the studio with Sarah, whom she deeply respects and loves teaching with.
SARAH MANWARING-JONES
Her background extends from a degree in Human Kinetics, years of teaching on outdoor expeditions between Baffin Island and Brasil, a masters degree in education and a continual intrigue with bodily sensations and metaphors in movement.
Soft yet strong movement practices, daily forest walks and consistently growing through the art of relationship have all deepened Sarah’’s passion for life, living honestly and sharing with the world around her.
Sarah’s practice explores meditation, pranayama & asana – independently and together. Inspired by teachers who creatively explore what it feels like to live in a body and what it means to live truthfully in this world, Sarah is a student of Gioia Irwin, Richard Freeman and the feather-like ferns of this west coast forest.
Also, forever grateful to her partner Scotty, for walking beside her on this road called life. To her son, Finn, for that light that he will always be. To her four-legged friend, Chinook, for the friendship and laughter he brings. To Lydia, it is such a gift to share and learn with you. And, to her family who has always encouraged her openly on this path of life.
As a co-owner of The Squamish Yoga Studio (a.k.a ’The Yellow Room’), Sarah’s hopes to share in community, quietness and delicate connections within the body and mind.

Christine Selda
In 1998 I began teaching yoga to others. Yoga has always been a coming home for me. In 2000 I immersed myself in India for one year. This was a pivotal experience in my life. I had the opportunity to live in a yoga hospital studying yoga therapy with Dr. Karandikar, while practicing alignment with B.K.S. Iyengar in the evenings. My studies in India went from ashtanga yoga in Mysore to hatha yoga and chanting at the Sivananda ashram, to the mountains learning meditation and sitting with the Dalai Lama. Since that time I have trained with many amazing teachers from yin yoga, power flow, to prenatal yoga, yet when I sit to teach, it is the time in India that guides me. What I hope most to bring to my students is an opportunity to experience without judgment their own unique expression of the union of their physical, mental and spiritual bodies. In each class I fuse intention and pranayama with asana and chanting. My training of yoga has taken me to mountain shamanism. This is currently my deepest place of study and teaching. I have a private practice as a healer and teacher as the founder of Indigo Bridge- Centre for Shamanic Studies, Yoga and Expressive Arts. WWW.INDIGOBRIDGE.NET
Amie Taylor
Amie has been playing with the application of Yoga since her original teacher training on the west coast of Canada at The Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. There is a yoga practice to suit everyone; it just won’t look the same as the next persons. And of course it cannot. Each of our bodies has a story to tell, your story, and it is reflected in how you move, how you learn, how you think and how you interact with the world around you. The constant investigation into why we do what we do and the incredible power we have over our minds, bodies and spirits has drawn Amie to the Therapeutic application of yoga and Yoga Therapy. Like everyone that embarks on the practice of Yoga Amie’s life choices have evolved along with her teaching style and application. Today Amie’s teaching style reflects time spent studying meditation, pranayama techniques, Yoga Philosophy, Classical Hatha Yoga, the principals of tensegrity, The Anatomy Trains, physiology, biomechanics and integrated movement. Amie has taught Therapeutic Yoga workshops, classes and private Yoga Therapy in Mexico, Australia and Canada. Home is the West Coast of Canada where Amie teaches Therapeutic Yoga workshops and has a private practice where she integrates a modern approach to anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology with the principals of the Yoga teachings to treat people living in pain that wish to get back to the life they want to live. “The incredible power to heal that is in our breath, in our minds and in our movement patterns is bewildering. It is all there, but somehow that wisdom has a way of falling into the background of our busy lives. To bring that awareness back into how we move in our structure and how we move through our lives is the ultimate goal of my teaching”. My teaching foundation and company catchphrase is “Truth in movement”. If we can find the truth in our movement, the mind, breath and spirit naturally follow and life starts to fall into place. Our duty is to develop an honest relationship with ourselves and when that relationship is nurtured it insists that we hold that same space for everyone.”
Wade Morissette
Wade has been teaching yoga for 19 years. he has taught workshops all around the world including yoga journal conferences, asia yoga conference, toronto and vancouver yoga conferences. he is a published author of “transformative yoga: 5 keys to unlocking your inner bliss” and is a mantra recording artist. wade believes in mindful movement, meditation and sound as key components to a vinyasa practice.
KATHRYN WEILER
Kathryn Weiler has been studying therapeutic movement and mediation for 19 years. She began with Tai Chi in 1990 and yoga in 1991. At that time, she also began practicing meditation. She spent a year studying yoga at an ashram in British Columbia. Kathryn’s has done several meditation retreats in the last 19 years and is currently studying meditation in the Tibetan tradition. Kathryn is also a student of dance and works in the wilderness as an outdoor educator and guide.
She is interested in bringing ease and mindfulness to all activities. She continues to deepen her practice through study and by teaching.
Martin Chabot
In 2003, Martin’s adventurous spirit brought him to Mexico where he first really discovered the nourishing qualities of meditation and Yoga. It was the beginning of a transformative journey that allowed him to study with great teachers throughout North America. Martin’s practice has been and is deeply inspired by Anusara Yoga founder and teacher John Friend, by the teachings of Vipassana Meditation and by his exploration of Yin Yoga. Just recently, he started facilitating Yoga and meditation sessions at the Paradise Valley Wellness Centre, a private residential centre specializing in treating a broad range of addictive behaviour and psychological trauma. Martin considers playfulness, attentiveness and self-awareness as precious gifts from Life and he is continuously exploring and learning from those qualities on and off the mat. He is very grateful to have the opportunity to share his fascination for the body-mind-heart connection with his community.

Practicing yoga is practicing peace with myself. Noticing how the breath always brings me home, and invites tenderness and clarity into my heart is the continual practice. I have been practicing yoga and meditation for over 10 years, and am now so thrilled to be sharing my learnings with others. I am currently a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. In my classes I aim at inviting yogis to inhabit their bodies and liberate their souls; to bring awareness inwards and allow inner peace and acceptance to unfold. Being present with the body, moving in awareness, sweating, smiling and breathing allows hidden treasures to emerge from our hearts and shine forward. I bring a light-hearted, compassionate and grounding energy to my classes. I look forward to learning, growing and guiding with you! Shanti Om.
